Goodreads Book Description
“His heart was turned off…
Until she turned him on…
Christopher Moore gave up on the idea of love years ago. Now, his life is an endless string of parties and an even longer string of girls. Enjoying the physical perks with none of the emotional mess, he’s convinced everyone that he’s satisfied—everyone but himself.
Samantha Schultz has moved on with her life. Finishing her student teaching and living with her boyfriend, she’s deluded herself into believing she’s content. But there is one boy she never forgot—her first love—and she keeps the memory of him locked up tight. She will never allow any man to break her the way Christopher did.
When Christopher’s sister and her family move into a new neighborhood, Christopher is completely unprepared to find Samantha living at the end of the street. Memories and unspent desires send them on a collision course of sex, lies, and lust. But when guilt and fear send Samantha running, Christopher will have to fight for what has always been his.”
I really enjoyed this book. We still see Aly and Jared a lot, which was nice, because I really fell in love with them from the first 2 books.
Christopher and Samantha had a relationship back in high school. He thought she would be the only girl for him, but when Christopher’s world started to fall apart things between him and Samantha crumbled, and they never got a chance to fix them.
A chance meeting between Samantha and Aly bring her and Christopher’s lives crashing back together again. Aly ran into Samantha one day while out shopping, and invited her to hang out and catch up.
Christopher pretty much fits the typical romance novel bad boy mold. He sleeps with tons of women (never the same one twice) but can’t forget the first love he had. When he sees Samantha at Aly’s house he tries to keep his distance from her by being a jerk. She leaves, but can’t seem to keep herself away from him and his family.
Samantha’s boyfriend is the one that picked her up when everything fell to pieces in high school. He’s a controlling jerk and Samantha doesn’t really love him back, but stays with him anyways because she feels a loyalty to him. He warns Samantha to stay away from Aly, but she sneaks behind his back and does it anyways.
The one thing I really didn’t like about this book was the cheating. I personally think it’s a shit thing to do and hate when it happens in books I read. Yes he was a controlling asshole, but if Samantha really wanted to take a chance with Christopher, before anything happened between them she should have broken it off before they “did the deed”. It’s just one of my pet peeves in romance books.
All in all I really enjoyed this book. I love a bad boy reformed and second chance romance.
