Goodreads Book Description

Phenomenal X: “Good Girl. Notorious Bad-Boy. One Phenomenal Love.

From the mean streets of Detroit rises the newest superstar of professional wrestling, Xavier Cold, better known as Phenomenal X. His muscular physique makes men cower before him and women lose their minds with desire.

Anna Cortez is fresh out of college and naive to the harsh realities of the real world. Tired of living under the thumb of her conservative family, she defies them when she accepts a job as the assistant to wrestling’s most notorious bad-boy. Phenomenal X has an animalistic nature that even good girl Anna finds hard to resist.

One night forced to share a bed in a sold-out hotel, lines blur between them and they quickly learn that one lustful night changes everything and neither one of them will ever be the same.”

Xavier Cold:The conclusion to the New York Times bestselling romance that began in Phenomenal X, about one woman’s pulse-pounding relationship with a notorious bad-boy wrestler.

“What’ll it be, Anna Cortez? Are you in, or are you out?”
One momentary loss of control has now ruined everything Xavier Cold had going for himself. With his world unraveling fast, he’s willing to do anything to save not only his job but his relationship with the only woman he’s ever loved.

Anna Cortez, still reeling from shock, tries desperately to save the man that’s consumed her heart, body and soul. She’ll have to dig deep and find courage she never knew she possessed to help Xavier fight demons from his past—a past that’s even more haunted than she ever imagined.”

My Review

Phenomenal X: I thought this was a really great book. I wish Xavier was an MMA fighter instead of a wrestler, but that’s just personal opinion and doesn’t really matter 😉

Anna Cortez just wants to live life for herself and get out from under her overbearing father and his expectations. She leaves Portland to start a new beginning in Detroit living with  her Aunt and cousin. While on the flight there she meets Xavier Cold, who is a big name wrestling star, but she has no clue who he is.  She is drawn to him, but decides it is best to stay away. Xavier can’t seem to stay away though. When Anna tells him she isn’t ready for any type of relationship he agrees to be “just friends” because he just wants to spend time with her.

When Xavier goes to leave Detroit to return to his wrestling career after a short hiatus, he realizes he wants Anna to come along and hires her as his personal assistant. We all know where this leads too 😉 Eventually they start a relationship and they start to untangle each others pasts.

I really liked the build up to the start of their relationship. It wasn’t an insta-love, it started as friendship and grew from there. I really appreciated that. Sometimes insta-love can just get annoying.

The ending of the book was left on a cliff-hanger, so I am very glad I didn’t read this book until after the 2nd book came out.

Xavier Cold: I really liked this book, but not as much as the first one. I don’t want to explain too much about this book because it will ruin it if you haven’t read the first book yet, so go read it!!!

One of the things I really liked about this book was getting more backstory on Xavier. His childhood contained things of nightmares, and we can start to see why he thinks himself so unworthy.

My Rating: 5 stars for Phenomenal X and 4 stars for Xavier Cold
