So this is a book I would have never found if not for Quirky Blind Date with a Book! This author is brand spanking new, and this is her debut book. It was the Bonus Challenge book of September for people who finished their book for the month and wanted to sign up for another. I am SO happy I did!
This was the blurb they posted for people to decide if they want to sign up or not, “Sometimes we choose to forget the things that hurt us the most.”
When I saw the cover after I received my copy I had NO clue what I was getting myself into. I was flying in blind, lol, but it seriously was the best way going into this one.
Abigail is hexed, cursed, the world is out to get her. Normally she can pull herself back up and stay positive, but not anymore. Her fiance left her the day she bought her wedding dress, her beloved dog passed away, she was put on an extended leave from her job, what can possibly happen next?
When she meets Marcus Klein she’s immediately drawn to him but she doesn’t know why. She is completely confused by her emotions around him. She tries to keep her distance but when a business trip forces them together more questions arise of who he really is, and why she feels like she knows him from somewhere. But how can that be?
This book was seriously one of the best debut novels I have ever read from a new author! The writing style was fabulous, the characters were well thought out, and the plot was well driven and kept you on your toes and guessing what was going on.
The book was a little bit of a slow start for me, but once Marcus came into the picture, it picked up and I couldn’t put it down. The book keeps you guessing about what is going on, and just when you think you’ve figured something out, it turns you in another direction. The gist of what you think is going on is correct, but the details of why and how keep you thinking and guessing till the end.
The story of Abigail and Marcus is so emotional and written so beautifully, I can’t wait for the next book. (And because she left it on a cliff hanger @_@) You seriously need to give this author a chance and read this book.
My Rating: 5 stars!!!
