Book Description

Love struck me at the early age of five. The boy turned into a man, and I fell even deeper. Guy Webb had no idea my fragile heart belonged to him for so many years. He was too busy being my brother’s best friend and a star on the football field. He was my daydream, and consumed every single thought, but he was always one step from my reach.

Beartooth Ranch was our home. The rich ranch land raised us, fostered our laughs, losses, and even gained a new family member when Guy moved in for his sophomore year of high school.

I hid my love for years. But now he’s back. Guy Webb returned a broken soldier after serving his country all over the atlas. And now it’s my job to help him heal.

My family lost everything with his return and I can only hope I survive it.

My Review

I was immediately drawn to this book by the cover. I’m a horse lover, and work with horses for a living, so I always love reading books that incorporate them into the story. This book turned out to be SO much more than I expected! This was such a beautifully written story that had me laughing and crying, and it completely shattered me at some points and had me bawling my eyes out.

From the moment I read the first chapter I knew what would be coming and almost didn’t want to read it, but if I didn’t I would have missed one of the most emotional well written stories I have read this year. The emotional journey you take while reading this book truly connects you to these characters. The relationship between Molly and Guy runs so deep. When Guy comes home from the war, he is a broken man. Molly and her whole family are all broken, and together they try and help each other to piece themselves back together. When Molly (who is a horse trainer) gives Guy Royal Atlas, a wild horse that was injured and re-homed at their ranch, him and the horse form a special bond while healing together. The relationship between man and horse was just as beautiful to read about as the human relationships.

This book was just an amazing piece of work. I highly recommend this one. You will cry, so have tissues ready, but the read is so worth it. I will be checking out more books from this author!

My Rating: 5 STARS!
