Sarina Bowen is one of my favorite authors, and when she pairs up with Elle Kennedy…….. WOW!!!! Him and Us were absolutely amazing, and when I found out that Blake Riley would be getting his own book I was excited! He’s pretty much the scene stealer from the other books with all his crazy shenanigans and sayings! This book definitely didn’t disappoint!
Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.
But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?
I am a HUGE fan of Sarina Bowen, and when she pairs up with Elle Kennedy you always get something amazing! Him and Us were phenomenal, and Good Boy was just as amazing!
Blake Riley is such an awesome character. The things that come out of his mouth are just hilarious, but he also has a heart of gold and would do anything for one of his friends/family. The build up between Jess and Blake is entertaining, and some of the best scenes are when they bicker back and forth. I loved getting to see Wes and Jamie again, as well as some of the other teammates.
I think my favorite thing about the book though is Blake and all of his crazy sayings. I mean seriously….. “Cheezus” “samesies”. There are soooo many more! Also he calls his manhood “Snake Riley”, and the chapter titles of this book are hilarious as well. The entire book was just well written, funny, sweet, and I loved every minute of it! Can’t wait for more of this series!
My Rating: 5 stars!
