Downshift by Winter Travers

So I first discovered Winter Travers through Quirky Blind Date with a Book. Her book Downshift was one of our blind dates last fall and it was one of my favorite reads that month. Now she will be at Madtown Author Daze, so now I can nab all the rest of the books in the Skid Row King’s series!

You can meet Winter in Madison at Madtown Author Daze on April 15th!

Book Description

Luke Jensen lived on the wrong side of the tracks all his life, but that never stopped him from realizing his dream and making it a reality. Now, the King of the Street Racing scene, he finally has everything he wants and he won’t let anyone take it away from him.
Violet Barnes lived a sheltered life growing up, never fitting in except in the books that she loved. After losing her parents, she forges forward, creating her own little world, content in being alone.
When Violet stumbles into Luke’s shop, sparks fly but neither can let go of the hard lessons they learned growing up.
Will Violet give Luke a chance to prove he’s not just another gear head? Or will Luke write Violet off before they even have a chance to see that they both need to let go of their past, and focus on the future?

My Review

I absolutely loved this book. From the street racing, to the building relationship between Violet and Luke, this book had me hooked. My favorite romances have a sweet slow building relationship between characters, and Luke and Violet’s relationship was perfect!

I loved all of the side characters, especially Frankie and Leelee. I can’t wait to see what happens between Kurt and Leelee in later books! Looks like we will be getting Mitch’s story next 🙂

I wish we could get more Luke and Violet though, because it just doesn’t seem like their story is over yet. There is still so much more to be seen, or at least I hope there is.

Highly recommend this one!
